Bayern Munich is all set to host Borussia Dortmund in the second Der Klassiker of the current season tonight. Will BVB increase their lead over their arch-rival? Well, I doubt it will happen as Bayern are in an amazing form currently.
The last time these two sides faced each other was back in November. Borussia got better of their bitter rivals as they won 3-2 in that fixture.
In the last league game, Bayern played a 1-1 draw against SC Freiburg. While Dortmund defeated Wolfsburg 2-0. BVB are currently the leaders of the Bundesliga table with 63 points from 27 games. Bayern are just two points below them in the second position with the same number of matches played.
Bayern have won seven of their last home matches while Dortmund are undefeated in 25 of their last 27 matches in Bundesliga. Moreover, the Bavarians have scored at least two goals in their last seven matches against BVB. While Dortmund have scored at least two goals in their last 3 matches in Bundesliga.
This is a crucial match for both the sides because seven more games of each side are left in the league. If Dortmund will win then they will go five points ahead while if Bayern emerges victorious then they will reach the top of the table with a one-point lead.
As for Bayern Corentin Tolisso, Arjen Robben and Alphonso Davies are set to miss this fixture due to injury issues.
Dortmund, on the other hand, will be without Achraf Hakimi, Maximilian Philipp and Christian Pulisic.
