Inter were creative but lacked seizing opportunities
Internazionale had a good start to the game, attacking immediately. As many as 22 shots were made by the Italian side out of which only nine were at target. Out of these 9 shots at target only one went past the goalkeeper, which is a serious issue considering the inexperienced PSV side.
With six corners in the match, Inter looked threatening but lacked ideas to break PSV’s defence. Only Politano looked threatening as he was breaking the PSV defence with ease but there was no support from the rest of the forwards.
Having had some big names in their squad, Inter were expected to demolish the Dutch team en route to their next round progression, however this was not at all to be. The Inter attack looked threatening but were always missing the edge in the final third. This is one of the main reasons of their recent dip in form wherein they have managed just one win out of their last six matches.
