A rocket strike from Casemiro and a stoppage-time goal from Luka Modric sailed Real Madrid over Sevilla in the league points table.
The hosts just outperformed their bitter rival, Sevilla. From possession to shots or even tackles, Los Blancos were a better side in all the areas last night. Also, this performance came in when most of the people were expecting this season to be a miserable one for Madrid.
In our prediction, we suggested that Sevilla will win this fixture and Wissam Ben Yedder will score. However, we turned out completely wrong as Los Rojiblancos had just one shot on target. While Los Blancos were a completely different team in comparison to all their performances this season.
The first goal of the game came in from the feet of Casemiro in the 78th minute of the game. The Brazilian midfielder got the ball around 33 feet away from the goal post. He then cut the ball towards his right and fired it in the top right corner of the goal. Tomas Vaclik got his hands to the ball but couldn’t keep it out as it was quite a powerful shot.
This was a deserving goal as Los Blancos were a better side throughout the game. Also, they looked hungry for more goals last night from the starting of the fixture. Most of the times the Madrid players took a silly shot but the desire to score and win could clearly be seen in this game.
As the game was approaching towards it’s last and final whistle. Luka Modric scored another goal and doubled the lead for his side. This time Sevilla defenders got quite sloppy. As the Croatian midfielder intercepted the ball from Daniel Carrico’s feet and galloped towards the goal. After reaching the 30-yard-goal, the midfielder fired the ball at the back of the net.
This was the second consecutive defeat for Sevilla while the second win for Madrid in last two league games. Maybe this will be a turning point in both the clubs’ future. Once might move further up in the table while the other might drop few places down.
