Lazio are all set to host the undefeated and the league favorites, Juventus, tonight. Will the Eagles succeed in ending the Old Lady’s unbeaten streak tonight? I highly doubt because Juventus are in a tremendous form currently.

The last time these two sides met in Turin this season. Juventus got better of their visitors. The home side registered a 2-0 win over their league rivals.

In the last week league fixtures, the Old Lady defeated Chievo 2-0 at home while Lazio lost 2-1 to Napoli in an away game. After this result, Juventus went nine points clear at the top of Serie A points table. While Lazio slipped to 6th position with two points off the fourth-placed AC Milan.

The Old Lady has been on top of their game in the league this season. Their depth in the squad has also been a major reason for their phenomenal performances. Massimiliano Allegri has used most of his players and checked out many different formations to win the league this season.

Juventus are undefeated in their last 24 league games. Also, the Old Lady have won nine out of their 11 fixtures against Lazio in all competitions. In all these nine fixtures, the visitors were successful in keeping the clean-sheets. In addition, Allegri’s side has scored at least two goals in their last eight out of nine league games.

Lazio, on the other hand, have been undefeated in their last five home games. However, the last time the hosts got better of their rivals was back in 2013 Copa Italia Semi-final.

So, looking at the current form and performances, I think Juventus will emerge as the ultimate winners tonight.

Injury Update

As for Lazio, Adam Marusic is suspended and will join Francesco Acerbi, who is also suspended due to receiving a red card in the last game against Napoli. This will be the first time in the last 150 games that the Eagles will play without Acerbi.

Along with these two, Luiz Felipe is also sidelined for this fixture due to injury.

Juventus, on the other hand, will be stepping on the pitch without a majority of their key players. Juan Cuadrado, Andrea Barzagli, Mario Mandzukic, and Medhi Benatia are going to sit outside this game due to injury. While Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira and João Cancelo are doubtful for this crucial encounter.

Even after facing so many injury issues. Juventus will be starting this game with their solid line-up. The reason behind it is that Allegri has too many options.
