Matchweek 23 of the 2018-19 Premier League was headlined by the London Derby between Arsenal and Chelsea. The Gunners emerged victorious, 2-0, to cut down the gap between them and fourth-placed Chelsea to three points. Manchester United also kept their perfect run under Ole-Gunnar Solskjaer intact, winning their seventh straight game under the Norwegian.
The most entertaining matches, however, panned out the Molineux and Anfield. In the former, Diogo Jota found a last-minute winner which condemned Leicester to a 4-3 defeat. Two goals from Mohamed Salah along with strikes from Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino helped Liverpool overcome Crystal Palace, 4-3. The two seven-goal thrillers surely treated the fans to some exhilarating football in Matchweek 23.
Southampton continued their resurgence under Ralph Hasenhuttl, defeating Everton and notching their second win in a row. The Saints now have some breathing space as they lie in 15th place on the table.
A Harry Kane and Heung-min Son less Tottenham produced a last-gasp win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. The win helped Spurs increase their lead over Chelsea in the table to four points.
Overall, 33 goals were scored in Matchweek 23 and five teams out of 20 kept clean sheets. The toughest position, in terms of choosing our Premier League Team of the Week, was up front. Some brilliant defensive work also made choosing center-backs a tough proposition. So much so that we opted for a back three this time out.
Formation: 3-2-2-3 [Variation of 3-4-3 with two wing-backs instead of traditional wingers]
