All the top clubs of Europe went against each other but once again Real Madrid turned out to be the ultimate winner. Los Blancos acquired their 13th overall Champions League title and became the only European club to win the League for the third consecutive time. Well, one can surely say now that the Champions League is Real Madrid’s league.

The Reds performed quite brilliantly in the UCL this season. But fell short against the Spanish club in the final. The main thing that made the difference between both the clubs was the depth of the squad. Liverpool’s talisman was subbed off in the first half due to injury and then there was no major player to replace him. While Gareth Bale came on for Isco and scored two crucial goals and won the UCL for his club.

As both Liverpool and Madrid made it to the finals. The majority of the team is comprised of the Reds and Los Blancos players. Also, none of the Barcelona or Juventus players are featured in our Champions League Team of the Season and that is due to their poor performance in the UCL. In addition, only one player each from Bayern Munich and AS Roma made it to our Champions League Team of the Season.

We have selected our Champions League Team of the Season on the basis of the performances of players in the UCL this season. We have considered statistics and the influence of players on the overall performances of their club.

The selection of the players was a bit tough because major football stars who play at same position were up against each other. In the end, after a lot of consideration, we have decided our best Champions League XI of this season. So, here is the Sportswizz’s Champions League Team of the Season.
